Grateful 365 Day Thirty-nine

Whew! The last few days have been very busy and as such, I am behind on my postings – but I did manage to take a few (couple hundred!) photos over the weekend.  We purchased a larger pool for the kids a few weeks ago and haven’t put it up do to the rather cool weather we’ve had so far this year and we finally had the chance to put it up on Saturday.  This was after we found a level spot on the lawn, purchased 250 lbs of sand, filled the low spots with said sand, purchased a large tarp for additional ground cover and fretted about having a pool of this size in our back yard.

I thought it would be fun to do a time lapse of the entire install process but, as you will see, the time lapse movie is less than perfect. The word of our pool setup spread quickly throughout the local neighborhood and within minutes of opening the box for the pool, we had 6 to 10 kids, aged 5 through 12, running giddily around the yard waiting for the pool to fill. As you can probably imagine, the camera on the tripod was also a bit of a wonder and there were several times throughout the process when I had to reset the camera as best I could. Also, I didn’t want to take the time to learn a new software program to create the video so I just used the built-in features in Picasa to create the video.  Unfortunately, it is very limited in options and the shortest interval between photos is 1 second.  Would have been much better with 1/10 or even 1/2 of a second.

Backyard Pool Setup – Epic Summer Begins Now!

The Pool is Full and I am Grateful (as I am sure Sue is) for the Recreation it will Provide this Summer.
