Grateful 365 Day Twenty-one

Game Night

If you’ve paid attention at all to the news around the Billings area in the last 3-4 weeks you know that we are in the midst of one of the rainiest seasons on record. Memorial Day weekend was no exception and it pretty much rained every day with only a couple hours of partial sunlight between rain showers. This actually worked out pretty well for us as we had / have much to do to get the house ready to sell so we took advantage of the inclement weather and finished a couple projects and started others.  By the time we were finished with dinner tonight we all had just about enough work and decided to sit down for a game night and play “UNO” and “Go Fish.”  Because I hadn’t been out of the house much today to make any photos I decided to set up my camera on a tripod and use my wireless remote to take some exposures throughout the evening.  Our kitchen is pretty small so any angle I chose ended up with someone’s face being obscured and I didn’t want to pose any shots – I just wanted to capture a moment in time where we were just being a family having fun.  Everyone is so used to having their pictures taken that none of us paid any attention to the camera and Emma, Gannon and I took turns using the remote to take random pictures.

I am so appreciative for the time we make (we try to at least once a week) to play games together. There really is nothing like entertainment that doesn’t require any batteries or other electronic devices.
